Recreational Claims

If in an accident while operating your recreational vehicle, remember to take a couple deep breaths and remain as calm as possible. Once settled down, follow the list below.
  • Call the proper authorities.
  • Gather the facts. What happened? How many vehicles and people were involved? Write a summary of weather conditions and your surroundings.
  • Exchange info. Get insurance info, people’s addresses and names. Take pictures of the scene.
    • If in the woods, like an ATV or snowmobile accident, get approval from the proper authority to move the vehicle from the scene.
    • If on the lake, in the case of a boat or PWC, get approval from the proper authority to move the vehicle from the scene.
  • Call your Insurance Agent to discuss your options.
